Three Rt Team
I was planning to make a Ritualist, but I figure I'll go communing since it's used less in human groups and heroes are better for SoS/Resto and ST defensive. Would this be a strong group alone? I wanted to synergize with my heroes. I'm thinking a resto nec, panic, inept, prot ele, and commandogon to fill in the rest. I know ST is bad with minions which is why there's no MM, but would it be very strong team or is 3 mesmers better?

What I have:
1 SoS/Restore
1 Communing Offensive
1 Communing Defensive or Wanderlust,Earthbind/Restore if you are playing the Defensive rit
1 Panic mesmer
1 Ineptitude mesmer
1 Shared Burden mesmer
1 BiP/restore
You don't need the commandogon if you spread the command skills among your rits based on their secondary.

Heroes run ST Prot much better than SoS/Resto incidentally, maybe you are not running a decent build on them

I'm guessing mercenaries? I don't mind the para for a slot since it triggers splinter weapon and I can keep expel hexes on it or soldier's fury like I usually run.
Would a Psychic Instability swap be better when paired with Earthbind?

In the worst case you could add an EVAS Rt, something like this:
Rt/A: Explosive Growth, Boon of Creation, Assassin's Promise, Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, Optional x4
Rt/Me: Explosive Growth, Boon of Creation, Auspicious Incantation, Arcane Echo, Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support, Optional x3
Just abusing the fact that EVAS is summoned at foe's location, guaranteed to trigger EG at that foe's location.

I've been running the spirit spammer build on my necro and it works pretty good with soul reaping. I want the higher level spirits though and versatility.
That's a good build idea. I wouldn't mind running DwG in some places with Great Dwarf Armor.

If you want to use splinter, you can always let some casters wield a spear. You don't need a para for splinter. However, the para would have IAS if you use soldier's fury so there is some amount of trade off. For me, I still consider that it is more worth it to bring the extra mesmer over the paragon.
Psychic Instability doesn't need earthbind if you have at least 4 points into fast casting after runes.
Yes I use mercs because mesmers and rits are the two most useful caster professions for heroes nowadays. Unfortunately, we are limited to only 2 of each of these classes without mercs. You don't need to buy 8 merc slots, you only need 3 at most for any worth while combinations.
But if you don't have/want to use mercs, you can always use a Wanderlust/restore necro hero.

I just made a Rit as well (boredom!) and while it isn't three Rits, this has been rolling through (went from lvl1 to DoA in ~12 hours, including some idle)
Me, SoS: OAWkMchoITik3U101U5kP4kj0kAA
SoGM Rit: OACjAyiLpNObm5ZbzFt/mZukLA
Dom Mes: OQBDApwTOnAT3yPHkBmeDhiA
Minion Nec: OANDUshvSyBVB4BoB1DBEKgbhA
Air Ele x2: OgljgwMqJO6wyBg+bgMoFhjdMA
RoJ Mo: Owkj4wQrpN+M8K13lcRs+V/dMA
UA Smiter: OwQTcMHD3hhQ9dJ41Ph1v63FBA
Switch around if need be, but this has been stomping. Ran the same with my ele (and SoS as a hero), as well as with my war.

I just read the hero will use SoGM without regard for the number of spirits it controls. Therefore, the human rit should be communing.
